88 Hotspring Resort

We would like to spend a vacation off from stressful work, so my husband and I decided to look for an escapade. Since summer we really wanted to swim. We ask some of our friends recommendations for the best place to relax and enjoy the day. Someone told us that 88 Hotspring Resort is the no. 1 resort in the whole Laguna because of its clean environment. Since we were planning for an overnight stay and the price seems reasonable for what we saw on their website so we hit the road.

What is the Meaning of Success?

Usually we have the notion that being successful is being rich and owning a top corporate business, marrying a loving wife or husband of your choice and having good kids, or having a passionate and understanding fiance, taking on leisure and pleasure, making a trip around the world, owning real estates in different locations of the world, graduating with honors from a reputable university and alike.

But to you, what is the real meaning of Success?

Affordable shoes, sandals, slippers, etc.

slippers.jpg

I thought I can save my money if I will buy sandals or slippers in Liliw Laguna because that’s where my lola used to buy her products in Divisoria but I was wrong. It is still cheaper in Divisoria, Manggahan Fairview and Recto where I can buy P100/pair, but I was able to buy 3 for Php100 slippers and Php130 worth of sandals that has a replica here in Manila (sucks! ‘coz I only saved 20 bucks). I just enjoyed the scenery and resorts in Laguna but never their commodities because they were very expensive. But I will give credit to the creativeness of their shoes and sandals and their party shoes are double cheaper than what I used to buy in Celine, Primadonna, Manels, Rusty Lopez, etc. But I never liked their flip flops (no glamor!).

Wanna try on Friday’s

buffalowings.jpg
BUFFALO WINGS

My friends and I had been to T.G.I. Friday’s and until now I cannot forget the taste of their BUFFALO WINGS. It is one of their delicious appetizers and it really boosted up my appetite level. This is so delicious, the wings are so tender, the sauce is sultry partnered with blue cheese dip. It’s so yummy. I wanna try it again. The cost may be a little higher on the budget but it is worth it!

fridays.jpg
JACK DANIEL’S BURGER

This is Jack Daniel’s Burger. I say it is very, very, very delicious. The patty is grilled, juicy and tasty… the onions rings, bacon, tomato and dressings are perfect and the french fries are excellent (bigger than mcdo’s fries and incomparable with its taste). I love it!

mochamudpie.jpg
MOCHA MUD PIE

This is first time I’ve tasted this kind of Cake or Dessert. Taste Heaven! I love the almonds because it blends well with the dark chocolate and the creamy and icy mocha taste. This is very different. It’s mouth-watering. I recommend you to try this `coz this mud pie tastes so good.

fridays-burger.jpg
FRIDAY’S BURGER

This is an expensive version of Cheeseburger. It’s so surprising because I do not like it. Wham’s Double Cheesy Burger is better than Friday’s burger. It is expensive and I think not worth with its taste (dull taste). The only consolation is the fries.

fillet_mignon.jpg
FILLET MIGNON

Sorry for the unpresentable picture… because we were so hungry so I forgot to take a shot of Fillet Mignon. This is another style of Friday’s steak. I don’t know if it’s just the cooking style of Friday’s in Trinoma or this steak doesn’t really taste good. I’ve tasted the Jack Daniel’s steak at Friday’s Timog and Glorietta (I think Friday’s Glorietta cooks it best) and I like it so much. But here in Trinoma, it’s just okay. The onion rings doesn’t have a taste and so slanky. I still love Don Henrico’s onion rings.

Hair on style

These are just one of my favorite hair clips. I have a long hair so I love styling my crowning glory with simple yet stylish clip-ons. This is not made from swarovski or precious stones… Surprisingly, it is made from the tree extracts and resin and crystallized to achieve the brilliant and attractive look.

This one is beautifully designed for braid. It is made up of simple beads but very fashionable to accentuate your hair. Affordable enough but only for limited stocks because it took me more than a year to find this kind of hair comb (black color). I already went to 168, Divisoria Mall, Quiapo, SM, Trinoma, Baclaran, Ever Gotesco, Robinson’s, Circle C (where my mom bought her blue, violet and pink hair comb) but still I failed to find this color black although I have seen a few ladies who were wearing black hair comb. But to my happiness, last week I found it in _______ well, it’s for you to find out. Have some adventure just like mine… sorry guys :p

Bb. Pilipinas-Ms. World 2008 an embarassment?

Janina San Miguel: Well, my family’s role for me is so important b’coz there was the wa- they’re, they was the one who’s… very… Hahahaha… Oh I’m so sorry, Ahhmm… My pamily… My family… Oh my god… I’m… Ok, I’m so sorry… I… I told you that I’m so confident… Eto, Ahhmm, Wait… Hahahaha, Ahmmm, Sorry guys because this was really my Pirst pageant ever b’coz I’m only 17 years old and ahahaha I, I did not expectED that I came from, I came from one of the toF 10. Hmmm, so… but I said that my family is the most important persons in my life. Thank you.

How in the world did it happen that a so confident(?) 17 year old Masscom student of U.E. (to think that she is a Masscom student of U.E. duh!) won the Pageant as Bb. Pilipinas - Ms. World 2008?!! She may be true to herself and she may have a pleasing personality (in fairness) pero Di sya marunong mag-ingles dong! Ito ba ang magrerepresent ng Pilipinas sa buong mundo? (Wawa naman tayo ‘coz she’s representing the Filipino culture and its women) How happy she was because she “didn’t expectED to be in the TOF ten.” Ang JOLOGS no!! Ano ba ito wala na bang makitang maganda at matalino sa buong lupalop ng Pilipinas? Is this the new trend? That as long as you are beautiful, even though you cannot express yourself and speak fluently, then it’s ok to win the beauty pageant because it is not a beauty and brains pageant?!? Then our Bb. Pilipinas Beauty Pageant sucks! (Where is the essence of being a woman? Nag-low tide na ata e sabi mo pa naman you are confident and you are not stressed in answer to Paolo Bediones’ query)?!! This implies that Janina is carrying the degrading knowledge of the Filipinos when it comes to English communication (buti kung Chinese, Japanese o Korean sya maiintindihan ko pa kasi sa kultura nila). She is a Masscom student, maybe a freshman yet, it is most expected that she should know how to speak in public and of course in english, not only in tagalog, because she is in a beauty contest wherein she will represent our beloved country around the world. For all I know, Filipinos are considered to be one of the most fluent and knowledgeable when it comes to English language (talo pa nating mag-ingles ang mga kano no!…grammatically speaking).

Janina should carry with her an interpreter in the Ms. World 2008 beauty pageant if she will not improve her communication skills or else it will be another embarassment for the Philippines… “oh I’m so sorry” (is she imitating the president of the Philippines?). If she wins the Ms. World 2008 title then it’s good ( kasi wala syang nasabi kundi ang “Pamily… este Family” para sa kanya ay important persons! E ano ba ang question ng judge na si Ms VivienneTan?
Vivienne Tan: The question is, what role did your family play to you as candidate to Binibining Pilipinas?
Granting the answer is “important role.” No further explanations? What is that important role huh? Do you think that answer will give you the title as Ms. World 2008? Please don’t add another embarassment to our country. But you still have the chance to prove your worth in 7 months.

Well, Janina now holds the title Bb. Pilipnas - Ms. Wolrd 2008 (eww!) so maybe there “are” (sabi ni Janina kasi they “was” ~ mag-aral ka nga ng tamang paggamit ng singular at plural) there is still more time to practice… so the Filipinos hope that you will practice more to make it perfect and not ferpect (Do your BEST na lang). Ayusin mo rin yang dila mo at tama na ang isang Mike Enriquez sa mundo ng pagbabalita na mahilig magsabi ng “excuse me po” (with matching cough) kapag nagkakamali (to think that Mike is also winning some awards as the Best News Host given also by some Philippine award-giving body at kahit pa galing sa Singapore o US ang award e mga balintunang mga Pilipino lang din naman ang gumagawa at nagbibigay nung award na `yon). Sobrang nakakahiya siyang magbalita (Imagine ung isang ibinabalita niya imbes na sabihin nyang “at may isang Pari na inaakusahang pasayaw ~ubo-ubo~ pasaway pala blah-blah-blah… Ano yan? Nakakawalang gana manood ng balita kapag bangag ung nagbabalita tapos Best News Host pa?!! (eww!)

Anyway, (ang haba na ng nata-type ko) nakakahiya din naman on the part of University of the East kung papasa ka ng Masscom na hindi ka nag-iimprove e pagsasalita pa lang ng maayos hindi mo na magawa… so what if you’re only 17 years old (adolescent age na yan no, so pathetic excuse mo lang `yong sinabi mo na “Ahmmm, Sorry guys because this was really my Pirst pageant ever b’coz I’m only 17 years old and ahahaha I, I did not expectED that I came from, I came from one of the toF 10.”) e matatas pang magsalita sa’yo ng ingles `yong kapitbahay namin na 6 years old. Mag-artista ka na lang kaya dong baka mag-click ka pa tutal yan din naman pinasok ni Ms. Melanie Marquez…
Ok, I’m so sorry (for being harsh)… I told you that I’m so confident… Ahmmm.

Starbucks Planner 2008

planner1.jpg

This was my starbucks planner last year 2007. I very much like the design because of its originality and lots of pages to write on. Until now I’m saving the pen and writing pad (hehehe I’ve only used 4 pages) for souvenir. I’m still using the vacant pages of my planner for personal purposes. The paper quality is good.

starbucks.jpg

This is my starbucks planner for 2008… A very expensive one because I bought 24 frapuccinos compared to last year’s 21 hot choco and fraps. Approximately my recent planner costed between Php3,000 to Php5,000 (waffles and cakes included and the fact that I was not alone) to avail this. A lot of my colleagues thought this planner is unattractive… they hated the design, color, less pages and less add-ons, no writing pad and just pencil compared to 2007 planner which was a sold-out (they did not avail this planner). Hopefully by next year they will come up with better design and lots of pages for Starbucks Planner 2009.

Who won the Amazing Race Asia Season 2 (Result)

marc-rovilson-0022.jpg

I was so excited (an understatement of what I really felt) waiting for this race to end and routing for the Philippine team Marc and Rovilson (love your own). But it was to my greatest disappointment that they turned up third or last in the final leg. My heart sank at the bottom because this wasn’t I expected (actually not just me but a lot of fans out there). They seemed to be running first place “Team No. 1 as Allan used to say,” but failed on the final road block to their success. Rovilson depressingly consumed a lot of time arranging the flags of the countries they had raced on accordingly (keeps on putting the Australian flag where they hadn’t been haha!). And with the Singaporean gym buddies on the last trail turned out first in arranging their flags (Adrian is knowledgeable on flags so they really have an edge. He was putting the flags on its respectable rack like he was buying fishballs on some *med school* rather street in the Philippines hehehe). More acceptable if Pamela and Vanessa, Malaysian sisters, did win the race… but TARA2 is over and history cannot be changed… (unless you are under the current PGMA “evil” Administration hah-hah!).

ara_s22.jpg

However, though I hate to say this, maybe Adrian and Collin deserved to win and receive the $100,000 cash prize because they have done their best as well. Who would have thought that they can easily find the three stones, with red dot at the bottom, among the throng of different stones (either Collin has eagle eyes or luck was on their side or maybe there was something fishy going on?). Adrian kept falling on his ATV but Collin helped him all through out and on this leg Collin was very cunning I daresay because they did not fell with the sly tactics of M&R. A&C are very persistent in spite of A’s disability. But I’m still hoping that M&R won this race.

But still I’m proud of the Philippine team for reaching the last leg. Horraayyy for Marc and Rovilson!!! It was a great achievement (first time for Philippine team) because we have seen how powerful M&R’s teamup… How many times they were on the first place at every pit stop?!! They still bagged P2Million worth of prizes including 1 year gas service on Caltex, Sony video cam and a trip to South Africa. It was just one road block, savvy… Aye, in our hearts Marc and Rovilson are still TEAM NO. 1… you’re the BEST!
